Timor Leste is a very smoking country as well as Indonesia. Good thing is that many young people start to realise the harm of it. Many of my local friends have been trying to quit but fail because it’s really hard to do when there’s smoking environment everywhere around you. People smoke in any public space.
I’ve noticed an interesting custom of flipping one cigarette in the pack straight after bying it like in the picture above. This is meant to say: “You can take no matter how many of my cigarettes, but leave me the last one” which is particularly useful in big groups and during gatherings.
